The Self-Fulfilling Prophecy

Lexa declined the job offer in the morning. Clarke scoffed and huffed when Lexa told her, and they argued worse than they ever had. Clarke was certain Lexa would grow to resent her, and Lexa maintained that she didn’t decline because of her.

 

Their argument proved to be a self-fulfilling prophecy, and within a year, they had parted amicably.
