The Unknown Question

 

Lexa dropped her shoulders and let the grin spread across her face. “I forgive you.”

 

Clarke lowered her chin and glared at her. After a moment of intense scrutiny, Clarke balled her fingers into a fist and landed a firm yet playful punch to Lexa’s shoulder. “You ass. You were never actually offended.”

 

“I wasn’t,” Lexa smirked.

 

“It’s a good thing you’re cute, Woods.”

 

Lexa stood there, completely surprised by the casualness of Clarke’s statement. And when Lexa continued not to respond, Clarke laughed before tracing Lexa’s jaw with her finger. “Seriously, you have a jawline to kill for.”

 

Lexa held the breath in her throat for fear that she’d release some sort of embarrassingly ungodly moan at Clarke’s touch. And just when she thought she had her body under control, Clarke exclaimed loudly, pulling a startled gasp from Lexa.

 

“Oh! That’s perfect! Omigod, you have to say yes!”

 

Clarke finally dropped her hand from Lexa’s face, and with her skin free from Clarke’s heartstopping touch, Lexa was able to formulate words again. “I can’t say yes to something when I don’t even know the question.”

 

“You know how I’m taking a freehand drawing class?”

 

“I didn’t, but go on.”

 

“I could have sworn I told you. Oh well, I’m telling you now. So I’m taking this freehand drawing class…”

 

Lexa nodded and smirked as Clarke grew more and more animated.

 

“And for our midterm project, we have to draw a figure from life. So say yes!”

 

“I still don’t know the question.”

 

Clarke rolled her eyes and grabbed Lexa’s hand encouragingly. “Will you pose for me? Please? Let me draw you, Lexa. I promise I’ll do your killer jawline justice. Please? Pretty please?”

 

“Okay, I’ll do it,” Lexa easily relented. She was aware of how quickly she gave in to Clarke’s every whim, and to maintain a small bit of dignity, she added an ultimatum. “But only if you stop begging. It’s very unbecoming.”

 

“Aw, I think you kinda like it when I beg.”
